Herbmedic Centre Ltd is the largest traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Company with more than 90 branches throughout the UK. Due to the company’s recent restructuring, we are urgently seeking candidates for the following posts:
TCM Doctor Duties: examine patients, diagnose and carry out necessary Chinese medical treatment including acupuncture etc; prescribe Chinese herbal medicines/product and advice on dosages. Monitor the treatment progress on a regularly basis and give professional advice on a wide range of health issues; provide continuous care to patients including home care visit if necessary. Candidates must have a degree level or relevant qualification in TCM with a minimum three years work experience; ability to speak both Chinese and English is highly desirable. Positions are in all areas of the UK, particularly London, East Anglia, Midlands, South East, South West, Northeast & Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland and North Ireland. Chinese Herbal Medicine Pharmacists Duties: check prescriptions for proper dosage of Chinese herbal medicine; compound prescribed Chinese herbal products with correct quantity; advise patients and other health practitioners on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage; maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs; ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of Chinese herbal medicine; order and maintain stock of Chinese herbal medicine supplies. Candidates must hold a degree level qualification in Traditional Chinese Medicine or qualified by experience with at least three years working experience in Chinese herbal medicine management. Positions are in all areas of the UK, particularly London, East Anglia, Midlands, South East, South West, Northeast & Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland and North Ireland. Acupuncturists
Duties: examine patients and check their physical and mental health history; diagnose disease, injuries and other health problems; perform acupuncture treatments; advise patient on effect and indication of acupuncture on their health and live style; discuss with other health practitioners in delivery of a combined treatment package; monitor treatment progress on a weekly basis and adjust treatment accordingly. Candidates must have a degree level qualification in Traditional Chinese Medicine or qualified by experience with at least three years practice experience. Positions are in all areas of the UK, particularly London, East Anglia, Midlands, South East, South West, Northeast & Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland and North Ireland. Acupressure Practitioners
Duties: examine patients and check their physical and mental health history; diagnose disease, injuries and other health problems; plan and perform Chinese physiotherapy including therapeutic exercise, manipulation and massage treatments; advise patients on methods of relaxation; discuss with other health practitioners in delivery of a combined treatment package; monitor treatment progress on a weekly basis and adjust treatment accordingly. Candidates must have knowledge of Chinese physiotherapy and at least three years practice experience.Positions are in all areas of the UK, particularly London, East Anglia, Midlands, South East, South West, Northeast & Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland and North Ireland. Branch Managers:
Duties: manage a TCM branch and ensure the delivery of health care services; develop evaluation systems to monitor the quality of health care service; implement markets strategies and develop new customer base; coordinate with relevant UK authorities/organisations and ensure the operation in compliance with relevant legal requirements; Plan and control branch budget including purchase order placement, stock control and provide a monthly financial report; supervise and train staff and deal with internal/external complaints. Candidates must have a UK degree level or equivalent qualification or relevant qualification with at least 3 years working experience; must be able to speak and write in both English and Chinese. Medical backgrounds and knowledge of Chinese business culture are highly desirable. Positions are in all areas of the UK, particularly London, East Anglia, Midlands, South East, South West, Northeast & Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland and North Ireland. Assistant Branch Managers:

TCM Assistants (Full time and Part time)
Duties: greet patients when they arrive and take records of new patients; answer phone and deal incoming mail; arrange appointments and deal with queries; interpret for TCM practitioners and other health practitioners; dispense the herbs for customers; take requests for repeat prescriptions; manage and file patients records. Candidates must have at least three years relevant working experience and be fluent in both English and Chinese. Have friendly and sympathetic manners. The knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine is highly desirable. Positions are in all areas of the UK, particularly London, East Anglia, Midlands, South East, South West, Northeast & Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland and North Ireland. Sale and Marketing Managers
Duties: plan and implement the company’s sale and marketing strategies; design polices/procedures and manage the Sale and Marketing Department; plan and direct market research to identify new business opportunities; manage product positioning, pricing and promotion and supervise advertising and marketing programs; budget control and monitor overall sale performance; analyse market data and adjust the sale and marketing plans accordingly. Candidates must hold a degree level qualification with working experience. Be able to manage and motivate people and an excellent communicator, ideally both in English and Chinese. Knowledge of Chinese trading medicine is highly desirable.
Regional Mangers
Duties: manage Clinic Managers to implement regional business strategies; plan and implement the company’s regional budgets, monitor and control the performance of branches to ensure the achievement of it regional targets; conduct local market research and analyse market data to identify new business opportunities; identify premises for new branches, negotiate lease terms and be responsible for overall set-up of new clinic shops; coordinate with relevant UK authorities/institution in the region and ensure the operation of clinic shops in compliance with relevant legal requirement; supervise, motivate and train Clinic Managers to ensure continual improvement in health care service and achieve business objectives. Candidates must hold a degree level qualification with relevant working experience. Be effective at planning, monitoring and reviewing and an excellent communicator, ideally both in English and Chinese. Knowledge of Chinese trading medicine is highly desirable. Human Resources Managers
Duties: manage and direct operation of human resources department; plan human resource requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers; co-ordinate internal and external training and recruitment activities; develop and implement labour relations policies and procedures and negotiate collective agreements; administer employees’ development including appraisal, promotion and discipline and their dismissal procedures; oversee the classification and rating of occupations; organize and conduct employee information meetings on employment policy, benefits and compensation; direct the organization's quality management program; ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation. Candidates must have a degree level qualification with relevant experience. Be patient, tactful and diplomatic with excellent communication skills, ideally both in English and Chinese. Positions base in the head office in London.
Facility Managers
Duties: manage the Facility Department and take responsibility for quality and operation of the Logistics facility; continually review and update systems and process to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity; manage and train facility staff and ensure they carry duties in a safe and correct manner; maintain cleanliness of the warehouse; manage the Health and Safety procedures and ensure the operation in compliance with relevant health and safety regulation; liaise with external contractors for maintenance and repair of machinery and replenishment of materials. Candidates must hold a degree level qualification with good communication skills and ability to work on own initiative. Fluency in both Chinese and English will be highly desirable.Positions base in the head office in London.
Financial Assistant Managers
Duties: assist in management of Financial Department’s daily operation; assist Financial Manger in development and implementation of accounting system, policies and procedures; continually review and update accounting system and procedures to ensure it meets need of the company’s rapid growth; prepare weekly and monthly management accounts; prepare or co-ordinate preparation of financial statements and other financial reports; maintain and manage accounting ledges; supervise payroll operation and VAT returns; conduct internal audit; assist in budgeting and investment appraisal analysis. Candidates must hold a degree level qualification in financial management or accountancy with relevant working experience. A good communicator, ideally both in English and Chinese. Active studier of a recognised professional qualification is preferred. Positions base in the head office in London.
IT Engineers
Duties: develop, implement and review policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations (including network system, website and computer supported sale system); design and integrate IT strategy into company’s overall business strategies and ensure company’s IT service to adequately support company’s rapid growth; design and review IT strategy, architecture, infrastructure and specifications; maintain quality, reliability and security of IT infrastructure and services; produce systems documentation & periodic status reports and conduct data backup and disaster recovery operation; provide IT training to company staff and technical support. Candidates must have a degree level qualification in computer science with relevant experience. Positions base in the head office in London.
Interactive Media Graphic Designer
Duties: consult with Sale and Marketing Department to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials in order to meet their needs; design and develop of rich media advertisement and oversight the company website; design integrated online and offline components to support marketing efforts in collaboration with other departments; design online banner advertisement/rich content emails and maintenance the customer-facing in-store interactive tools; Write, modify, integrate and test software code for e-commerce and other internet applications; Research and evaluate a variety of interactive media software products. Candidates must have a degree level in computing or digital media. Must be a self-starter with excellent communicational skills. Able to speak Chinese and has knowledge of Chinese business culture is highly desirable. Positions base in the head office in London.
Newsletter Editors
Duties: conduct internal interviews and prepare news copy and articles; evaluate suitability of manuscripts, articles, news copy for publication of Newsletter; plan and implement layout or format of copy according to space or time; edit copy to detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar and syntax, and shorten or lengthen copy as space or time requires; plan and co-ordinate activities and assure production deadlines are met; plan coverage of upcoming events and assign work accordingly. Candidates must have a degree level qualification with relevant working experience. Be able to communicate in English and Chinese. Positions base in the head office in London.
